Nothing works better to set off rain then to cut a field of hay.
I cut 50 acres the day before yesterday and the thin crop would've been ready to bale today. The clueless WEATHERMAN had SAID NO RAIN EXPECTED IN THE NEAR FUTURE so i figured i may as well start haying and take of the little that was there before the grasshoppers beat me to it.
After getting only 1" of rain since april one our drought finally broke yesterday afternoon when the sky opened up with tunder lichting and rain and lots of it,..i got just shy of 4" overnight.(i hope it drowned most of the filthy hoppers:twisted:)
Hopefully the pastures recover quick so i don't have to sell the whole herd as that was what i was facing.
I am a happy man :)
