Saw the same thing in the Army. I recommended a guy for SGT. When I took him in front of the promotion board he did very well. That is till the last question. This was right after they did away with the WAC's and integrated women into the regular Army. He was ask what he thought of that idea. Instead of either saying it was good or bad he launched into a rant against the idea and blew he chances for promotion. Not because he was against it but because of the 5 minute rant.
I was still active when don't ask don't tell started. Never saw a problem. No one refusing to work with anyone they suspected of being gay. It was pretty smooth. They did have that one Marine who beat a civilian gay man to death off base but that was about it.
Not trying to get too far into religion here but they now know in most cases that gays are born that way. They have no control over what turns them on. It has to do with brain development and the part of the brain that controls sexuality being under developed. So basically God created them then condemned them? But he can forgive murderers? Sorry, I don't buy off on that. IMO some "holy man" slipped that in there because that type of activity fails to produce tithe paying young. Follow the money.
It's only immoral if it's against your religious training.
I don't support the gay movements. I just try to be fair and honest and I don't allow some preacher to tell me what to think. For all I know they could have it wrong.
