OK, now what is the deductible per year, and what is the co-pay??? When you add them in, that $100/month policy doesn't cover much of anything. Been there. Done that.
Just for the sake of arithmetic:
A single guy making $30,000/year. His premium, even under ACA would still be in the $400 to $600 range per month. That is a hefty payment in addition to basic living expenses. $30,000 for a decent car, $150,000 for a livable home, $3.65/gallon of gas, and the list goes on. Now, the poor guy has to pony up the first $8,000 of his medical expenses before the insurance kicks in. Then he has to still shell out 20% or more in co-pay for any medical care he needs. Does this sound like a good deal to you??? Sounds to me like it will take way more than he can afford if he gets sick or injured.
