I appreciate the quick replies I got when I posted my questions here, and came back tonight to try and learn from older post about my tractor. I don't know about tractors but I do know some about computers. So I will give may thoughts to help who it may. It is best to wait for awhile (at least 1 year) before doing any new version of Windows and about half that time before you do a major Service Pack update. Too many things that are not "dry" / proven tested... in an new version. As for installing a new version of windows on an existing version of windows. To me it is like trying to put a new motor in your car and leave the existing motor in there too.... just hope they work well together. Now uncle Bill will tell you it will work and many people do not have a problem at all.... but many do. If it is your home computer that you can afford to tweak and work with until it is all working correct, that is up to you. If it is your office pc or home pc that you cannot afford the down time, I would stay with what you have. If you have XP Microsoft does not offer the free upgrade. If you have win 7, chances are you will purchase a new computer before Microsoft stops support for it. If you have Win 8, that is the nightmare Microsoft is trying to fix with Windows 10.
