I had Farm Bureau for a lot of years. This was for everything. I never had any big claims with them. Some small auto type stuff. The rates just kept creeping UP and UP. So I went shopping around. I switched everything over to State Farm 4 years ago. I saved over 30% for the exact same levels of coverage.
I now shop around every two years. I go to the current agent and have him give me his best rate for his recommended coverage. I then shop around. So far the Local State Farm agent has had the best deal. That was not the CHEAPEST but the best deal. His policy had a much lower deductible with a better total coverage. He was only $150 higher on a Complete farm/truck/home owner policy. So I went with him again.
I have found that the Loyalty/Renewal discounts really are just a smoke and mirrors trick to cover up higher rates to start with. So insurance is a generic commodity to me now. So whichever KNOWN company is the best buy is where I will be. The local Mutual companies have cheap rates but have crappy low coverage in my area so I run from them.

It increased the farm productivity and, in general, made life easier because more work could be done with this 'mechanical beast'. My dad dreamed that some day he would have his own tractor with every implement he could get. When he rea
