I used Gel cells in my boat for 12 years. Bought at West Marine in 1986 and changed them out in 1998 for AGM's before setting out on a Three month cruise. Had 6 group 30 . Also had 2 set off on a starting circuit . Toook them out and they were grabbed by a power boater who installed them in his boat. Always charged them at 13.9 volts. May be still going today. Now I buy batteries at Tractor Supply and they seem to old up well.
