I've used an AC-B for years with a 59" Woods belly mower, but the engine came apart on me and I haven't had a chance to tear it down and rebuild it. Its on the slower side cause I mow in first gear...she's old.
At the beginning of this past summer, I picked up a '94 Deere 425 garden tractor from the Deere guy by me. Two cylinder 20 HP water cooled Kawasaki, 60" deck, and the odd thing about it, All Wheel Steer. True, a zero turn will go faster, but this thing is a garden tractor that can do more than mow and steering at all four corners makes for tight mowing. Its faster mowing than the B is, that's for sure.
