My uneducated guess is a long slow downturn in the ag economy as returns revert to a historical normal. Question I ask is what year in the late 70's early 80's are we in? Returns in farming are normally a return on investment ,not so much return to labor. That's how the smaller farmer that owns 240 -320 acres makes a living, he pays himself rent instead of the landlord. Many big time operators have leased equipment, rented ground,and money borrowed on inputs, therefore not as much of their own money invested in their business as a smaller operator that owns his farmland outright. Just my opinion and have a nice day everyone.
