That steering unit is not for the amateur or faint of heart. Can you say, over engineered. When they went to the simple little steering hand pump (what ever you want to call it) on later model tractors, I think a lot of Deere mechanics breathed a sigh of relief. I only got involved with Deere the last four year before retiring but did tangle with a couple of them.
