I've got an AK series engine on a log splitter. Motor runs fine, but the original carb developed a leak in the float. Engine still ran fine, but leaked gas. Swapped in a different carb from an AKN (good running engine) to get through the season. The AK has the round style float, the AKN has the two float chambers. With the carb from the AKN on the AK, I can't get the governor to stop surging. Have cleaned and adjusted the carb to no avail. If I put the leaky original carb back on runs fine except for the leak. Since I can' find a replacement float I guess I'm stuck. What could be causing this? I've moved the governor spring to all 3 positions w/o much difference. Hoping someone can help me. Thanks. MBF
