the only real down is gas mileage, i helped a buddy move from the dallas tx area to central nm, he had a dodge 3/4 ton v-10, i had the first gen cumming dodge both of us were pulling 20 foot stock trailers probably about equal in weight give or take 500 lbs the cummins made the trip in 2 tanks of fuel, the dodge v-10 took 6 for the same trip
