Join the club. Mine stayed home yesterday because those roads were just too nasty. Soooo, after my chores I went to the city for a doctors appointment. When I got home she wanted to know if I wanted to watch TV with her and kitty. I expounded for about three minutes how my day would be filled with checking water, chopping ice, and finding enough extension cords for every stock tank. There were hogs to move and doors to unstick on every shed. At the end of the day I drove five miles west down the dirt road to check and see if it was passable for a woman. You know, since we got a half inch of ice and an inch of snow. Last night I told her to take the road west to work because the blacktop was a sheet of ice. I got a quiz about every mile of that road I tell you. There's a reason I drove it before I parked the pickup - I couldn't dare let her get stuck or I'd never be right for another 20 years. This morning I got read for filth in case I wasn't able to answer my phone when she buried her suv to the axles in an inch of snow. Honey, put on your big girl panties and get to work. I am headed out to that tractor to go to work. I'll gladly trade you.
I never got a call and she's been at work for 30 minutes. Whew. I'd rather try to start the chore tractor I forgot to plug in than deal with that car in the snow. I wonder what she's making for dinner...
