You have to feel for anyone who had adverse circumstances, particularly on a holiday.
My wife helped serve a meal for a double funeral at our church yesterday. Last week a young couple (37 and 33) were on a county blacktop road approaching a state highway. She was driving, couldn't stop on ice, and were broadsided by a pickup. Both died at the scene. They left a 10 year old son. Neither were wearing a seat belt, but it might not have made a difference. The husband was a professional truck driver and may have handled the situation differently, but we'll never know.
The pickup driver is hospitalized with non life threatening injuries.
