Well I think the 4440 is more user friendly then the 1086. The hydraulic levers are higher up easier to reach .The power steering and hydraulics are faster . The transmission more gears that can be shifted while moving without grinding . We had both and just liked the JohnDeere better we now have all JD. The JD has a quieter cab but is smaller with only 1 door . But in the wind The IH doors can be hard to hold on to . We also had a 986 and a 966 . Now if you do not put on a lot of hours the IH most of the time are cheaper to buy.
