: a non-computer friend has farmalll " H" tryke. : front end . has excessive slop in the front king pin. is there a bushing or some other thing that may be worn? Have you ever had this problem? pos. repair advice. cost? options? Replaced bushings in the front bolster of an H, and an M. Not too bad a job. Prop up the front end SECURELY, remove front wheel assembly (4 bolts) then attack the shaft at the top, inside the gearbox. It's pretty straight forward. You'll need some sort of puller to remove the old bushing. We used a long 5/8" bolt through a piece of 3/4" plate machined round to fit the hole in the casting. Put the new one in carefully, with lots of lubrication, and make certain its started STRAIGHT! Parts should be available from Case-IH dealer. No idea of current cost. You'll need new seals on this shaft, also. Don't get in a hurry and start hammering on things, take your time!
