Yes check those things over but,, you most likely will be servicing the bottom shaft, which is a big job. B-range is the one that usually gets used first as you bump out of park, so it gets raked a bit each time and gets the edge of the gear ground down,reverse is still working because of the way the gears are beveled when you back up it will take some of the slack up and allow it to hold a bit as you back up. To service the bottom shaft the cab needs pulled final drives removed,rockshaft lifted off and split at the trans/clutch housing,, a big job,,and a pricey job too...
