Best thing right now is to get it checked and go from there. Depth micrometers work well in your situation also.Make sure the deck is flat also. The last 560 I did the head was cracked. I checked every thing and put copper coat on the gasket and it sealed up(rebuilt head that I found). Had to sell it when I had to relocate due to job changes and my brother has it now and likes to tell me how well it runs:-). It had step head pistons in it and could really pull. If it needs to have the sleeves pulled be prepared to have a puller. I made the "puck" and kept it here for memories( I had to downsize drastically) so few toys now.
