I have the basic Hughes Net satellite internet directly from them, the pre-Gen4 version. $64 a month including the taxes and fees. No interest in satellite TV as we have no time to view much TV and no access to cable/cable internet (i.e. it's not on my road). It is much faster than dial up which is all we could get for many years. I bought my equipment rather than lease it. It's been pretty good service, we've had it for several years now. Only issues are when the atmosphere is stormy and during heavy rain or snow. Best speed is in the late evening, I can usually stream some youtube videos then. Down side is 250 meg per day limit, then you drop down to dial up speed. Doesn't take too many video clips to put you over the limit. At least they don't cut you off. After 2 a.m. until 8 there is no restriction, doesn't count against your daily limit. I try to schedule big down loads (like GPS maps) after 2 a.m.
