Reminds me of a funny story. When my son was 7 or so we were driving down the road past my parents farm, we live about 1/2 mile away. My son tossed a snickers wrapper out the window and it blew into a cornfield. Not the funny part. I pulled over and he searched for about 30 minutes for that wrapper without success. He didn't see the big deal because it was grandpas land and he wouldn't care. Well, he would care and so did I. The next morning at about 6 i told him to get up and get dressed in comfortable shoes. As many of you know getting a kid up early on a weekend can be painful itself. At this time I had the old cub cadet and small garden cart pinned to the back and said let's get going. He didn't understand what was going on and attempted to sit in the trailer. HAHA I laughed, your walking behind and picking up every piece of trash from both sides of the road to the stop sign and back. About 2.5 miles total. we were done in under 2 hours with a full trailer, my wife actually brought me a trash bag and took one home. He never did find that wrapper and never showed disrespect, that I have seen, towards his grandpas land again. He actually does this a few times a year now on his own since he is 13, and gets upset when he sees trash along the road. Our local waste company is responsible for a lot of it as they fly down the road with trash going everywhere.

Today's Featured Article - Show Coverage: Godfrey, Illinois Country Days - by Cindy Ladage. Except for last fourth of July's Old Gold show in Springfield, Illinois, I don't remember when it was so hot. Nevertheless, the heat didn't keep vendors and visitors alike from enjoying the third annual Country Day's Event. Jane Elliott said the event was originally a one man show. "Barry Seiler, owner of Country Town Farm Supply store used to invite people up to the Johne Deere store. He would give hats and a free meal for everyone that brings a tractor." Elliott said while this
