I have some odd things NOT found. Friend of mine blew up his hot rod ford V8 back in 66. When we tore the engine down a connecting rod was gone! Hole in the block didn't seem big enough to have let it out and it didn't seem like there was enough metal to make up a conn rod. My granddad told me a story about how he knocked some rod bearings out of his car while on vacation. When they rolled into the next town he put gear lube in the crankcase and took it to the local used car lot. Haggled out a trade on another car that was only missing on one cyclinder. Changed the plug and no joy. Got home, checked and no compression. When he tore down the engine it seems that the last owner must have knocked a rod as well and rather than fix it removed the rod, PISTON and all!!
