Just like last spring, there's a big woodpecker pounding away at a trim board outside the bedroom every morning around 6am. He's already made a hole about two inches across. Last year when I repaired the damage I verified that the wood is solid, so he's not looking for bugs, just for a nice resonant place to knock. I don't like repeatedly doing carpentry twenty feet up in the air, so does anyone know whether replacing the board with something like Azek would make it less attractive to our little friend?
