Pulled out the lawn mower yesterday, my favorite old Snapper that does the best job of mulching that I've ever seen.
Looked down and the deck had about 10 "spots" on it. Turned out they weren't spots, the deck had rusted through in the back near the handle.
It's kind of a strange deal, the deck is sound except in these isolated little spots about the size of carpenter's pencil lead (big square pencil). It's almost like the holes got punched through.
Two questions:
Can I fill these with a wirefeed welder?
Or am I just wasting my time?
Never had this happen on a mower before. Seems a shame to scrap it, the B&S engine starts on the first pull and doesn't use a drop of oil. I love Snapper mowers for their mulching and the self propelled almost drags you behind it's so powerful.
