not really , once it starts it will continue to flake off as the body heats and cools , one of the reasons i dont like factory basecoat/ clearcoat paint jobs, they dont put enough on, and all vehicles do that, a good paint job like on custom or restored vehicles if done right, wont. only solution is to sand the whole rig and have it reapplied, this means with a professional spray gun and put several layers on, not a spray can of clear from the hardware store, that wont work, if the body and paint is still good. otherwise it all has to be repainted, but it is cheaper than a new truck
