Before Harry Ferguson had a factory here in the states to build tractors the TE 20 was built in England and shipped to the US to get a start on the market at the same time the 8N Ford come on the market. When he got his factory up and running here in the states the TO 20 standing for tractor overseas came about and most TE series was stopped from being shipped to the US as he had the tractor built here to sell. I think the TE series was shipped to Canada for a time after the TO was sold here in the states. When the TO 30 became avaible her in the states he kept the TE 20 for sale in England but the engine was changed to more compair to the 30. That is the reason for and I think I am correct on sizes an 80 MM and then an 85MM engine in the 20. So I think all the 20's sold here in the states in 48 were TE models with 49 being devided between the TE & TO series.
