: : I was wondering if anyone knew what a 420 crawler
: : would be worth. It has a straight after market blade.
: : No PTO. Any information you might have, I would really appreciate.
: Your information is very vage. One needs to know the condition of your crawler espesially the bottom end or the equipments undercarrage. Sheetmetal condition is also important. A collector or hobbiest might overlook certain flaws and pay top dollar just to park it next to their " good condition" crawler to have spare parts. A tractor like yours in running condition can fetch between $2500 and $4500 dollars. I seen some as high as $5500 and $7000. Too bad it wasn't a model MC. I seen them for $12000!

Chris,
if you run across a JD 40 or 420 or 430, give Don Jackson a call @ 812-838-3541. He was looking for one when i sold my 420. he called from southern indiana one night after i sold the 420 crawler. sounded like a really nice guy. he's the sheriff in his county. he was looking for one of the above, but i don't know if he already bought one by now. it's been a while back since i talked to him. just thought about him and thought i'd write again. good luck convincing your wife on the crawler. your in the same boat with me. my wife would rather have a new car too!!!
take care
bv

Today's Featured Article - George's Fordson Major - by Anthony West (UK). This is a bit of a technical info to add on to the article about George's Major in the "A Towny Goes Plowing" article. George bought his Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken by Harold alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that the major was produced late 19 ... [Read Article]
