Larry, I've always wanted a backhoe for a long time too. When I turned 59 I bought my first for my Birthday. Figured no one else would. Really didn't know what I was going to do with it, but I wanted one. Like a few other things I bought, I found out how nice they are. I find many uses for the little guy. What makes it sweeter is getting a second one so I no longer have to transport it to the other end of the county.
I'm into landscaping which means I always need good dirt. That means I need wood chips and an active mulch pile. I have mulch piles at both locatons that need mixed up. There aren't too many days I not using them. Some days I use both of them. My first one is only 4 ft wide, the other one is 5 ft wide, a little more stable.
Soon I'll show you another way how I use it. This is a real time saver, not to mention I get to set in the seat and watch it make short work out of an annual task.
Back to your flat. I use my terramites to do everything, including taking down buildings. Which means there aren't too many tires that haven't been repaired at least once. One time I was working moving wood. Saw a board on the ground I just ran over and then backover. Yep the same nail got me twice. Holes were 2 inches apart. Some how I missed the front tire and got the back one. At the time I was helping a neighbor take down his mother's greenhouse and chicken coop. She is in the nursing home and he needed to clean up the property to sell it. It took me 2 hours. The guy said it would have taken him 2 days to do the job with his bobcat. He has a real nice cat too.
