Last fall I bought two new Kubota tractors to replace two Massey Ferguson tractors that proved to be disappointments (both MF and their dealer). The smaller one is an L6060, the larger one an M9960. I used the L6060 for the first time yesterday (it is finally drying out) and again today. Though expensive, it is the cat's meow. I can mow small parcels and cut in large parcels to finish up with the larger M9960 much more quickly than I could with the (much less expensive) MF 533 that I previously used for such tasks before finishing up with a MF 2635.
FWIW, the L6060 is thirsty. It uses noticeably more fuel to do the same jobs that I previously did with the old tech (2007 version of the 135) 533 but I did such jobs in considerably less time. Additionally, I can finish up with the M9960 in less time than time than I did with a less expensive and smaller MF 2635 while using approximately the same amount of fuel (won't know exactly until tomorrow when I refill the M9960).
What we have here is the classical time/capital trade-off that mankind has faced since the industrial revolution. In my case the trade-off decision has been complicated by poor support by MF and their dealer.
