The best tiller I have used is my MTD - that's right!! MTD It has all of the best features. The tine direction is reversible. I have not found anything that it will not go through. Excepting solid rock, of course. For their place on the price scale, I personally think that the Troy-Bilt tillers are overrated. I have been tilling my garden for over 10 years with my MTD, and it shows no signs of weakness at this point. The extent of repairs and maintenance amounts to seasonal oil changes and one time I had the drive belt come off. It also puts its energy into the ground, not into my shoulders!
