Hi I think you should tell the couple guys I rebuilt JD female couplers for that. They put new males on the implements I put new genuine JD rings in the females once for them, as they were cheaper than the rest of the parts Deere advised were worn out in the first place. They still had leaks After that, Finally they decided to get new barrel kits and After I did the job right like Deere said the leaks stopped.
I have had the same with a customer with IH 66 series females to that the older IH counter guy told us would not seal with new rings. in the end the customer decided to buy the pioneer style update females, I fitted them and the problems went away. He didn't have to use the converter adapters for his other machines either on that tractor after. I do agree about matching end types if you can, I have seen problems with flow caused by miss matches the odd time.
