I don't think it makes a difference if the engine is running or not when removing the lever from park position. I have had it happen a couple of times on the Magnum 7130 if I forget and park on an uphill grade with a load behind. I did not want to force the lever any harder so I got someone to help. Pull on the lever while I put a vise grip on the park actuator on the outside of the tractor transmission housing. It worked. Not sure how hard you can force that lever before something breaks and I was not about to find out.
