Pulled the largest beets from two rows, made 16 pints of pickled beets. Should be at least that much again when they all finish. Also thinned the carrots and made a few pints to fill the canner. The rest are being eaten raw.
Finally got a few bunches of broccoli, I should have planted that along with the cauliflower and brussel sprouts when I put the potatoes in. Sweet corn is about 7 feet tall and making ears.
Been picking zucchini for a couple weeks and got our first cucumber. Picked the green beans for the third time last weekend, might get a few more tonight. They should be about played out. I think we've put up about 25 qts.
Going to dig two rows of Yukon gold potatoes tonight, need to come out of the ground. Going to take a 5 gal bucket of new potatoes to Dad in Montana this weekend.
We have 40 tomato plants loaded down at the big garden. The wife picked the first one at the house and has gotten a few grape tomatoes as well. It been a really good year for our garden! Its big but everything is being split with my niece's family. Sounds like everyone here has a good garden also.
