Some of the responses here seem eager to provoke a hostile confrontation. I am a person of gentle (probably too gentle!) personality and character, and as such, have never had a real confrontation with a neighbor, even though a couple of times a neighbor seemed willing to start one. With me, a FRIENDLY conversation has many times gone a long way in preventing conflict. I would start out to resolve the situation by simply talking with the neighbor, stating my concerns and listening to his. I've found that most differences can be resolved if approached in this manner.
