Good idea about it being off the line as then you own the fence if you put it on the line then both of you will legally own it regardless of who paid for it.I have one pain in the neck neighbor I backed off the line 2ft with the fence and sent him a registered letter stating just that and that the fence was NOT a line fence written by my lawyer.
