The narrow front is never going to happen but I would think a gas engine would be a good idea for small low hour use tractors. Just look at how advanced and simple gas engines have become in small cars. Virtually no emissions garbage on them anymore. But diesel engines are a different story. You have exhaust filters, EGR, DEF, turbos, sometimes two of them and the list goes on. So a small homeowners tractor with a gasoline four cylinder engine with efi and a catalytic converter would make a simple cheap machine to mow lawn and do other small jobs around the home.
