I hope I made it clear that we now use a veterinarian service to spay/neuter our barn cats. The program costs us $10 per animal. We took in the last batch of kittens dropped off, four in all. They had been hand raised and fed by my wife and kids since found, very small.
In order to qualify, they had to be considered feral, so we had to stuff each super friendly kitten into a live trap for transfer to the vet clinic where the surgery was performed (Kalamazoo?). They now do not like the live trap!
Seems like a better program to control the population.
Now, raccoons in the barn, those are a different story.
