If you work through my Troubleshooting Procedure it can help find the cause of no charging.
If you ground the FLD post and apply voltage to the ARM post and case ground and it spins like the DC motor it is, that tells me the armature and brushes are in at least decent shape. Then if you unground the FLD she ought to spin faster tells me the field windings are in place. If no change in speed when you unground the FLD, I suspect a field problem. Usually if it passes BOTH tests (runs with FLD grounded and spins faster if ungrounded) it will charge.

PS In a Class A Generator one end of the two series field windings is already connected to the ARM (or via a third brush in a 3 brush genny) with other end terminating at the FLD post, so I don't understand your jumper between A & F ??? She can still spin with the field essentially shorted to itself by connecting A to F, but I start with F grounded then see if she speeds up when ungrounded.
