You should be able to take your tractor back to any dealer under warranty, no questions asked, especially if the original dealer is no longer a dealer. Most manufacturers these days have no problems with that.
The dealer that balks is probably too lazy to do the paperwork, or excessively greedy. Typically manufacturers pay a "flat rate" on the warranty repair, while the dealer could pad your bill with extra shop time, inflated parts prices, etc., to make a few extra bucks. Fortunately the Internet and Internet forums have put the kaybosh on that for the most part.
