Jon it's good they made it right with you. They don't want a bad name. I wonder how many complaints like yours a large chain fields in one day with the thousands of waitresses and waiters they employ. When something goes haywire against the customer the waitress seems to be considered guilty until proven innocent. We expect them to be perfect. Look at how many times a waitress makes change in a day. On the other hand one of my son's former friends was caught making wrong change on purpose so they they are all honest. Just saying!
A couple of weeks ago I got gas at a card- trol pump owned by the local co-op. It's one of those stand alone pumps with no building anywhere near, just two pumps. When I was done and got the print out the amount on the print out didn't match the pump for gallons. It was a little over one gallon off. This was on a sunday of course so I couldn't call the office. I did take a picture of the print out held up to the reading on the pump as proof though. Both the ticket and the read out on the pump can be clearly seen in the picture. I then took off and went about my business. A day later I looked at the picture on the phone and someone else's name was on the print out. Either his print out I got was hung up in the printer or some computer error is delaying the printing. I haven't called the co-op or looked at the credit card bill on line though I plan to.
