I heard that. Heard that their small cars will be built there. But, others do the same. GM built a huge plant in China for instance to build the VOLT there, not here. I remember reading years ago that IF a vehicle is less than 75% American made that the CAFE standards for "import" vehicles apply, and the CAFE standards for them are lower than domestic made. Go figure. The fuel mileage standards for foreign vehicles are not as stringent as domestic made vehicles. They cited the old Ford Crown Victoria at the time as the example of being classified as an "import" car. Ford did that, less than 75% of the parts manufactured here to raise their CAFE standards so as to avoid EPA fines. I don't blame them or anyone else for doing that.
Think I heard something today, a blurb that said Volkswagon is banned from importing diesel vehicles here due to that scandal? Sound right? Anyone else here that? I hear wrong?
