Helped our son finish his soybean harvest today--with the forecast it is always good to get the beans done! He has a Deere 9600 an I still have my old Deere 8820. The 9600 is a 1989 and the 8820 is a 1979 so I guess they can be called antiques. We have a 925 on the 8820 and a 930 on the 9600 so we take 55 ft. every time across the field. There was a farm sale last spring 5 mi. from Me and a better 8820 sold for $3000 and a newer 925 head brought $2000. So that is why I keep the old girl-junk price. The 9600 I bought 5 yr. ago for $17000 and the 930 head for $3300 on auction time and sold it to our son when he took over---so we don't have much invested at todays prices. When you hear a new draper head is around $100000 and both our outfits together are not worth $25000. The grain cart I bought new in 1982. At the time I had a Deere 3300 and my Dad had a Deere 7700.He traded for the 8820 so I traded the 3300 in on the cart. When he died in 88 I bought the 8820 on Mom's farm sale.......Thanks----Tee The duct tape is what I put on the windshield of my combine when I pull my Honda big red behind it when we go to another farm---Can you guess why???????
