Our JD 4600 (2001) was assembled in US, I'm pretty sure. We have almost 1000 hours on it with no unscheduled maintenance, two broken valve stems (tire) that's it, and that's because half of it's use is brush cutting. We had a good dealer, but it got gobbled up by a much larger one so it's not so good anymore. I used JD oil and filters when it was under warranty but since then it's Mobil Delvac and Wix filters, so I really don't need the dealer, and you can buy most anything online.
