Hard to say, here is an accident that happened recently by me, was on a state hwy with plenty of shoulder.
On October 14, 2016, at approximately 7:30am, Gary Falash, age 55 of Pound WI., was driving a 2004 Kenworth semi, west on Hwy 18 in Mt. Hope Township. Falash was hauling a 1995 Case IH Combine, which the tires stuck out beyond the width of the flatbed trailer. Michael Mathre, age 21 of Bloomington, was driving a 1988 Case IH 7140 tractor, west along the shoulder of Hwy 18. Falash thought he had enough room to drive by the tractor, but the front right tire on the combine struck the rear left tire on the tractor. The tractor spun 180 degrees before coming to rest on Clark Rd. The semi came to a stop along Hwy 18. No injuires were reported. The tractor was a total loss and the tractor was removed by Guy's Truck and Tractor of Kieler. No citations were issued and the Mt. Hope Fire Dept. assisted the Sheriff's Office at the scene.
