Bob it sounds like the coil you can mount an outside coil and fix the problem. You have to drill a small hole in mag case to run a wire from points to neg. side of coil then from key switch
run a hot wire when key is on to pos. side of coil
and you should have it going in no time.
If you are using a 12v batt. get a 12v coil with
built in resitor.Hope this helps
