Just some thoughts. 2/12 will work in a no snow area, but 3 /12 is better. Be careful where you site it. Water flowing under a hay barn is not good. If you make it a shed roof, site it so you can add another side in the future and make it a gable roof barn with the high side poles down the center. It needs to be 12 ft wide if you plan to pull a hay wagon in. Anything less is just too cozy. The higher the sides the more rain that will blow in on the hay, but I need at least 10 feet for a high stacked wagon.
