Ya that old dry rotted Alliance is really bad, the tread is starting to peal off. Failure on the road would be a bad thing.
With the 10 ply traveling down the road is one thing, mostly I’m concerned about driving it around the job site and maneuvering in tight spots, a lot of uneven ground around here. The hoe on this machine is really heave, it will lean over a lot when swinging the boom left or right and thats with the dipper and bucket up close.
I’ll use the 10 ply tires (eventually) and keep an eye out for another used Alliance 12 ply.
