A while back I asked what was needed to add float to a Gresen 2702. I got a dirty 2703 from my FIL that has float on two of the spools. I was looking at the casting and it looks like they are all the same with the exception of an extension on the ones with float. They look like the casting is the same and the extension is an add-on.
The confusion I have is, on the spools without float, an end plate is held in by a retaining clip and the bore is smooth as far as I can tell. How is the extension held in there and can I remove the one float from the 2703 and put it on the 2702? Right now the 2703 is caked in old oil and dirt so I can't get a clear look at it until I get a chance to pressure wash it.
Also with the 2703 being wider I would need to add an extension to my pedestal I made for the spools to sit on the IH 504.
