Ya'll can have them fancy computer controlled engines and such , yea they may give a little better fuel mileage but they also give you more head aches . Looking back i would rather have my old NTC Cummins over anything out there today . OH i need a new injector ok 65 bucks remove the valve cover pull a couple bolts pop the rockers back pop the injector out stuff new one in flip the rockers back over and reset put the cover on and down the road ya go . OH i need to do a rebuild ok total rebuild kit with three rebuilt heads under two grand a case of beer and a shade tree and a buddy and in two days and back on the road . Yep the last truck i drove i got 6.2-6,7 MPG on a turned up 3406 E and yep my old NTC got 5.4-5.7 everyday and it was five to ten MPH faster on the same hills with the about the same loads as the 3406 . BUT when the 3406 had a problem the Cat dealer did not take a case of beer to fix it they wanted lots of green backs and sometimes i had to go back a couple times to get the problem taken care of . The only thing i liked about the last truck was the fact that i did not have to fall into the bunk at night and fall out of it in the morning . And oh my old truck cost 42500 new and my new trailer cost 22500 new custom built to my spec.s
