Good for you. I would have told them to fly a kite too. Dad said when he bought his first bicycle back in the early to mid-thirties the guys at the gas station had him convinced he had to change the air in the tires to break the tires in. Dad believed it and came back to change the air in the tires. The guys at the station had a good laugh while they watched him performing the act in front of them. When dad got older he worked at that same station and now it was his turn to pull that same stunt on a kid but I don't remember him saying if he got it pulled off or not.
