I have an 04 dually that just gets used on the stock trailer. It has the duramax in it and about 125k miles. I changed the oil in it about 500 miles ago and all was well. I fired it up today to move some fat steers and could hear the power steering pump whine a bit. It was just barely on the dipstick.
I got to looking and the brake master cylinder is wet with drips coming off the firewall end of it. I assume it is like my 2500 and uses power steering to boost brakes? Can that master cylinder be split and only replace the pump portion and not the brake half? It is full of brake fluid and hasn't ever leaked and or given any brake trouble. Knowing the price of brake master cylinders on these newer vehicles I thought I would cross my fingers and ask.
Just another reason to hate this pickup. If 3500's weren't so expensive she would be gone.
