Put me in the near zero respect group. The guy was willing to open fire on US veterans protesting for their pensions, the "Bonus Marchers". He refused to give awards to the Marine Corps and instead decorated Army groups. He was big on aggrandizing himself and ignoring the contributions of others. I never saw him as much of a hero. I think his rise was due as much to his daddy being a General as his own ability.
